Circuit of the Americas (COTA) stands as the premier home of Formula 1 in the United States, delivering high-speed battles and dramatic moments since its debut in 2012. Designed with inspiration from legendary circuits around the world, COTA is a technical masterpiece featuring 20 turns, a 133-foot elevation change, and a mix of flowing esses, tight hairpins, and flat-out straights. The infamous Turn 1, a blind uphill left-hander, sets the stage for thrilling overtakes, while the high-speed Sector 1 pays homage to Silverstone and Suzuka. This modern track has hosted some of F1’s most electrifying showdowns, including Lewis Hamilton’s championship-clinching drives and Max Verstappen’s relentless duels. With its vibrant atmosphere, passionate fans, and world-class racing, COTA is a must-have for any Formula 1 enthusiast. Capture the speed, skill, and spectacle of the United States Grand Prix with this exclusive artwork.

As Formula 1 sought a permanent home in the United States, Circuit of the Americas emerged as the answer. Designed by Hermann Tilke in collaboration with motorcycle racing legend Kevin Schwantz, the track opened in 2012, immediately becoming a staple on the F1 calendar. COTA combines high-speed sections, technical corners, and an electric race-day atmosphere, making it one of the most popular modern circuits.

- Location: Austin, Texas, USA
- Track Length: 5.513 km (3.426 miles)
- Turns: 20
- First F1 Race: 2012 United States Grand Prix
- Lap Record: 1:36.169 by Charles Leclerc (2019, Ferrari)

COTA’s layout draws inspiration from some of Formula 1’s most iconic circuits. The fast, flowing Esses in Sector 1 mimic the legendary Maggotts-Becketts sequence of Silverstone, while the tight hairpins and long straights provide prime overtaking opportunities. The track’s massive elevation change, particularly the steep climb into Turn 1, adds an extra layer of challenge and excitement.

- In 2012, Lewis Hamilton won the first-ever Grand Prix at COTA, marking McLaren’s final victory before his move to Mercedes.
- In 2015, Hamilton clinched his third World Championship after a dramatic rain-affected race.
- Max Verstappen’s thrilling battles with Hamilton in 2021 and 2022 further cemented COTA’s reputation as a venue for F1’s fiercest rivalries.

COTA has helped re-establish Formula 1’s presence in the United States, paving the way for a boom in American F1 fandom. The circuit’s state-of-the-art facilities, combined with the vibrant energy of Austin, make the US Grand Prix a marquee event on the calendar. The track has also hosted MotoGP, endurance racing, and concerts, further cementing its status as a motorsport hub.

- Turn 1 (The Apex Climb): A steep, uphill left-hander that creates prime overtaking opportunities on Lap 1.
- The Esses: A Silverstone-inspired high-speed section that challenges a driver’s precision and car balance.
- Turn 11 Hairpin: A tight left-hander leading into the circuit’s longest straight, setting up crucial DRS overtakes.
- Turn 19: A fast, sweeping corner requiring maximum commitment before the final stretch.

- COTA’s elevation change of 133 feet is among the most extreme on the F1 calendar.
- The track’s design incorporates elements inspired by Silverstone, Hockenheim, and Istanbul Park.
- COTA hosts the only US-based F1 Grand Prix until the additions of Miami and Las Vegas.

COTA’s blend of technical brilliance, high-speed drama, and Texas-sized entertainment makes it a fan favorite. The race attracts massive crowds, passionate supporters, and some of the best racing of the season. Whether it’s witnessing overtakes at Turn 1 or feeling the raw power of F1 cars on the back straight, the experience is unforgettable.

- Best Viewing Points: Turn 1 for the iconic uphill battle, the Esses for high-speed action, and the grandstands along the back straight for top-speed thrills.
- When to Visit: The United States Grand Prix typically takes place in October, offering mild Texas weather and a full weekend of motorsport festivities.
